# MYTE

> MYTE is a food-only prepaid card you can hand to someone in need. Anyone can refill it by scanning its QR code, and the money can only be spent on food.

MYTE is for people who want to help someone in need, such as a person experiencing homelessness or a family facing food insecurity, without giving cash. The giver hands over a MYTE card. The card works only for food, cannot withdraw cash, and anyone can add money to it by scanning its QR code.

MYTE is a business, not a charity. Purchases and gifts are not tax-deductible.

## How to help someone with MYTE

1. Buy a MYTE kit: a food-only card, a sign with the card's QR code, and stickers.
2. Give the card to someone who needs food.
3. Anyone who sees the card or sign can scan the QR code to add money to that card. The minimum gift is $15. A 4% MYTE fee plus payment processing is added on top at checkout, so the full gift goes onto the card.
